A 27 year old man beat, stomped, kicked and otherwise brutally beat an infant to death in front of people on a highway. Bystanders said they "tried" to "intervene" but the man pushed them away. The man was finally fatally shot to death by a police officer that had to get to the scene via a helicopter.

From the news report: "What we got from witnesses is he was punching, slapping, kicking, stomping, shaking," Singh said. "They tried to intervene and get involved, but their efforts really didn't have an effect. The suspect was engaged in what he was doing. He just pushed them off and went back to it."

How could you not stop this man? Why did they not hit this guy with a tire iron or kick the crap out of him? You mean to tell me of all the people standing by watching, no one could figure out a way to stop him? Should the bystanders be held accountable for failure to take action?

What would you have done?

Would you have done more? Would you have just driven by? Would you have just "tried to intervene? like those "bystanders" that were there. It sickens me that no one that was there was able to think enough or react to the situation and take this guy out. If nothing else you could jump him, kick him, hit him with a tire iron or some object?

Come on, this is a really good example of how many people have become de-sensitized to violence in our society and how we fail to care about our fellow humans enough to take any kind of action to help them out that might endanger ourselves.

The "bystanders" need to be ashamed of themselves and I hope they seek some kind of counsling for what I think is a mental condition that causes them to become worthless human beings while another human being needs their help. Shame on them.

What would I have done? Shot the man dead on the spot no questions or words needed. He was activly engaged in killing the child and needed to be stopped NOW. This whole thing makes me sick.
