This is my personal view and comments on the issues and events that I feel a need to talk about or express my view. You don't have to agree, but lets carry on a adult, discussion and maybe you will see it the right way, mine. ;)
3 sentenced to life in prisoon!

BAGHDAD, Iraq – The Central Criminal Court of Iraq convicted 12 security detainees April 19 through April 25 for various crimes including illegal border crossing, possessing illegal weapons and joining terrorist groups.
 
      The trial court found Hassan Hamid Abdulla Muhsin guilty of violating Article 194 of the Iraqi Penal Code for joining terrorist groups to endanger innocent people’s lives and to unsettle the stability and security of Iraq and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Coalition Forces apprehended him Jan. 14, 2005, for being a member of the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi terrorist network. The defendant met personally with Zarqawi to receive instructions on conducting attacks. The defendant confessed to his involvement with the Mosul Terror Cell group and to being the person responsible for publishing terror cell compact discs and cassettes. 
 
      The trial court found Mohammed Dhaher Ibrahim Yassen Jazzah guilty of violating Article 194 of the Iraqi Penal Code for joining terrorist groups to endanger innocent people’s lives and to unsettle the stability and security of Iraq and sentenced him to life imprisonment. CF apprehended him June 23, 2005, for being a member of the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi network in which the defendant confessed his involvement.
 
      The trial court found Alilzaldin Redha Kadhum Al-Ubaidi guilty of violating Article 194 of the Iraqi Penal Code for joining terrorist groups to endanger innocent people’s lives and to unsettle the stability and security of Iraq and sentenced him to life imprisonment. CF apprehended him Sept. 2, 2005, for his participation in the Mosul Terror Cell through payment to the families of martyrs and distribution of anti-Coalition Forces pamphlets.
 
       The trial court found Hussein Ali Ibrahim Khalil guilty of violating Article 219 of the Iraqi Penal Code for misprision of a felony and sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment. CF apprehended him June 12, 2005, because of his involvement in the Mosul Terror Cell.
 
      The trial court found Taha Ibrahim Yassin Bakr guilty of violating Article 219 of the Iraqi Penal Code for misprision of a felony and sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment. CF apprehended him Sept. 9, 2005, for his involvement in the Mosul Terror Cell, including attacks against CF, the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi Police.
 
      The trial court found Adnan Rashid Jeru Alwani guilty of violating Coalition Provisional Authority Order No. 3 for possession of illegal weapons and sentenced him to three years imprisonment. CF apprehended him on Oct. 9, 2004, after discovering a weapons cache on his property where they found numerous rocket-propelled grenade launchers, a mortar tube, numerous grenades and fuses, and rifles.  CF also found a second weapons cache in the house, including shotguns, AK-47s, bolt-action rifles, blasting caps, numerous magazines, armor-piercing 7.62mm rounds and various other anti-CF equipment.
 
     The trial court found Hazeem Abd Wais guilty of violating Coalition Provisional Authority Order No. 3 for possession of illegal weapons and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 Iraqi Dinars. CF apprehended him Oct. 28, 2005, after searching his vehicle and discovering three sniper optics, two sniper rifles, two loaded magazines, one 9mm pistol, one loaded 9mm magazine and one cell phone.
 
The trial court found Sabah Sarhan Anfous guilty of violating Coalition Provisional Authority Order No. 3 for possession of illegal weapons and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and a fine of 50,000 Iraqi Dinars. CF was traveling by convoy Sept. 30, 2005, when they came under small arms fire. CF quickly searched the area and apprehended after they noticed him fleeing. CF searched his home and found two AK-47s that were still warm.
 
     The trial court found Hassan Ali Abbas guilty of violating Coalition Provisional Authority Order No. 3 for possession of illegal weapons and Article 27 of the Iraqi Weapons Law and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 Iraqi Dinars. CF apprehended him July 31, 2005, after following the vehicle he was in to a house where another man from the vehicle proceeded to drop off an artillery round. CF conducted a search and found four ski masks and three 9mm pistols, the artillery round, one loaded AK-47, wires, a cell phone, an electronic switch and wire cutters. The defendant also had a 9mm pistol tucked inside his pants.
 
     The trial court found Fathi Mahmood Monsoor Hamdani guilty of violating Coalition Provisional Authority Order No. 3 for possession of illegal weapons and sentenced him to three years imprisonment. CF apprehended him Aug. 6, 2004, after raiding his home and finding one AK-47 in a diesel can. CF searched the orchard behind the house and discovered five separate caches including six AK-47s, one 60mm mortar tube bipod, nine full AK-47 magazines, 100 feet of timed fuse, numerous blasting caps, two grenades, 100 grenade fuses and 200 24-inch artillery propellant sticks.
 
      The trial court found Mohammed Hussein Ali and Abdel Kader Mohammed guilty of violating Article 10 of the Iraqi Passport Law for illegal entry and sentenced them to six years imprisonment each. CF apprehended them Nov. 5, 2005, while CF was performing border reconnaissance along the Iraqi-Syrian border. Helicopters pinned down the defendants while a reaction force moved in and captured the two men. Neither defendant had a passport and both are believed to be foreign fighters. Additionally, the defendants admitted that they had come to Iraq from Syria without a valid passport.
 
Upon conviction, all defendants are turned over to the Iraqi Corrections Service to serve their sentences.
 
      To date, the CCCI has held 1044 trials of insurgents suspected of anti-Iraqi and anti-Coalition activities threatening the security of Iraq and targeting MNF-I. These proceedings have resulted in 934 individual convictions with sentences ranging up to death.
 
Hey at least the Iraqi Courts are working and seem to be working pretty well. 1044 trials and 934 convictions, better than most US courts can say. LOL
