BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – The Coalition has announced plans to help
build a new mosque in Angorata District of Paktika Province to promote
reconstruction and provide Afghans with a modern house of worship.
A Middle Eastern donor nation pledged the majority of funds required to
complete the project. Engineers have assessed the cost to approach $239,000.
“The Coalition is supporting the needs of the people of Afghanistan by
assisting in the funding of the mosque,” said Maj. Gen. Benjamin C. Freakley,
commander, Combined Joint Task Force – 76. “This new mosque in eastern
Afghanistan will allow the people of Angorata and surrounding villages to pray
in a spacious new structure, and a contributing nation has volunteered $176,000
to make this project a reality.”
The Coalition will also assist with an additional $66,000 from the
Commander’s Emergency Reconstruction Program, known as CERP, to complete the
required financing on the new mosque. Construction will begin this month.
Here you go, a bunch of blood thirsty,
non-sensitive types helping to build a place of wordship for that supposed
religion of violence, Islam. How dare Christians and other religions help build
a place of worship for the Ilamic people to worship freely. How dare we show
them compassion and consideration. They are all blood thirsty savages anyway
right?? I was refering to our troops, not the Islamic people. Truthfully this
is the type of thing that goes on almost daily and you hear nothing of it.
Because it shows how our troops and the local people are actually getting along,
not trying to kill each other. Even despite what you hear in the
MSM.
