OK I think I have heard it all now. The TV Show "24" is causing torture.

From http://www.c-n.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070211/FRONT01/70211013

The advocacy group Human Rights First says there’s been a startling increase in the number of torture scenes depicted on prime-time television in the post-2001 world. OK OK my response to this is no S%$T. Since that is a hot topic and many of the shows today are about the post 9/11 world.

Since they are saying that TV can influence real life, does that mean the medias coverage of the Iraq war can influence the public also. You can't have it one way and not the other. If "24" can cause torture then it stands to reason if you see constant negative news coverage on something (read Iraq) then you will begin to believe it.

Does the TV show really influence these types of actions? I personally like the show "24" because its fast paced, exciting, and the good guys win over the bad guys in the end, most of the time. It does not make me want to torture people, or hate any group.

If this is really whats happening then can we safely assume that ALL TV influences people? I think I have heard this before. Does TV and Movies and Video games have an influence on kids? If you say no then the show "24" can't possibly effect adults. If you say yes, does the same effect happen to adults? Are we that gulible? I sure hope not.

OK MSM if "24" effects our highly trained and motivated military, what does yo negative coverage of the president and the Iraq war have on impressionable people in the US? I think I know...
