I have a few concerns and questions about the current administrations ideas and what they have talked about possible actions when it comes to the job market and economic crisis that it is said we have.
There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.2 million LEGAL immigrants that come into the United States every year. This of course does not include the ILLEGAL aliens that cross our borders every day. The current administration would have to create over 100,000 jobs a month in the US just to keep up with the immigrants coming to the US. What about all those Americans who are already here that need jobs?? Is it time to put a moratorium on legal immigrants?
The Bureau of Labor Statistics said that in Dec we lost 632,000 additional jobs.
SO how is the new administration going to stem the tide of job loss, and does that include the dropping of the allowed number of legal immigrants to help increase the job market for Americans?
Obama says he wants to create 5 million new "green" jobs in the next 10 years. OK do the math yourself. 11.1 million unemployed now, not 10 years from now. Add the number of legal immigrants, those losing their jobs, and how do we stem the tide of job loss and turn it around?
I for one can't wait to see how the new administration tries to fix this problem. If what they say they are going to do, they actually do, we will continue to go in the hole and get deeper and deeper. I hope something happens, I hope whatever they do works better than they say it will, but I am very skeptical.
