A four-man special forces unit disappeared in eastern Konar province on 28 June, and a Chinook helicopter looking for them was later shot down. The rescued soldier was reported to have avoided capture in the days since his disappearance, US officials said. He was able to avoid capture due to his superior training and skill.

US military officials said the soldier had evaded the Taleban in the mountainous region throughout the past week. There has been no word on the fate of the remaining three members of his team, who have reportedly not made radio contact since their disappearance. The rescued soldier reportedly pointed the US search team in the direction where other members of the team had gone, but their whereabouts and condition still remains unclear.

For those of you who have no military training, escape and evasion is a school all special forces soldiers go through. It trains them to live off the land, avoid or escape enemy units, and basically stay alive until rescued, just as this soldier did. I would love to hear his story.

Want to see what the training is like. Go here, this is a good site with good pics of what some of the training is like and explains a lot. http://www.training.sfahq.com/survival_training.htm Link Gotta love this guy for his ability to stay alive in enemy area.

I will keep a ear out for any reports of the other three being found. God bless them and watch over them.

Hooooooaaaaaahhhhhhh

Well 2 more have been found. They were killed. There is rumor that the last one is in a village in a remote part of the country and they are trying to confirm that. So I will keep my ears open to the grape vine for the last one.

We leave no one behind.

Gods Speed.
