Tacoma police stopped a man for jaywalking in downtown Tacoma, then arrested him on suspicion of drug possession with the intention of selling.
The 32-year-old man crossed the street at the intersection of South 13th Street and Tacoma Avenue against the light Friday evening.
Officers stopped him and found that he had an outstanding warrant.
They asked the man whether he had any drugs on him, and he said yes, he had crack cocaine in his pockets.
One of the officers pulled out a square white package from his sweatshirt, according to a police report.
Then the man told police, “Wait, I have more.”
The report said officers found 10 more packages in his pockets. The man told police he was going to sell them.
He was booked into Pierce County Jail.
