My take on how the news should be reported:

In today’s news from Iraq (01/12/06), U.S. Forces along with the Iraq Defense Forces had a very successful yet varied day.

Coalition forces made a grisly discovery at a local sewage plant in Rustimiyah. They discovered seven bodies that showed signs they had been tortured before being killed. The cause of death was not released or the method of torture. The bodies were recovered and turned over to the local Iraqi Police for investigation.

U.S. Forces conducting an air insertion mission in Bagdad killed six terrorist. The Unit from Task Force Ironhorse came under small arms fire and indirect fire from terrorist in the area at about 10:45 a.m. local Bagdad time, two of the terrorist killed by the Task Force Soldiers were found to have been wearing explosive laden suicide vest. The terrorist were killed before they could detonate the vest and injure or kill any friendly forces. One terrorist was captured and detained for questioning.

In a nearby shack the Soldiers discovered a fairly large weapons cache. Found in the cache were mortar rounds, electronic detonation devices, plastic explosives, grenades, homemade explosives and several rifles. The homemade explosives may indicate the terrorist are running out of prefabricated explosives and are resorting to making explosive materials themselves.

Yesterday near Ramadi, Iraqi Troops found a cache of weapons that would seem to support the idea the terrorist are finding it harder and harder to locate pre-fabricated explosives to use. The Iraqi Soldiers found mortar rounds, acetylene tanks and explosives made from fertilizer.

The discovery at two separate locations of home made explosives may indicate that the sweeps and discovery of weapons caches all over Iraq are having an effect on the supplies of explosives the terrorist are using against Coalition Forces. In the last couple of months, Coalition Forces have discovered hundreds of weapons caches which contained more than 10 tons of weapons and explosives. Forces have been finding weapons caches, both large and small since entering Iraq in 2003 and the finds may finally be paying off. The caches have included everything from groups of fighter planes buried in the sand to all kinds of weapons and explosives. Along with a decrease in the total number of attacks, the removal of these explosives and weapons from the terrorist ability to use them against Coalition Forces may be showing a positive outcome. This is of course not to say that there’s still not more caches and explosives, or for that matter other material, to find or that the terrorist will not find them elsewhere. In localized areas though the finding of these caches may finally be having an effect.

Sounds like there's a lot buried in the sand over there.
Hmmm... makes you wonder what else is out there.

That has always been what leads me to believe that there could still be something there. Think about it, how many years did he have to hide anything he had under all that sand? I still believe that one day, hopefully soon, something mayor will be found.
